"I knew going to the training grounds was not a good idea. Vex is a trained commander, Delaney. What were you thinking?" Ronan asked, throwing his hands in the air as he paced across my room.

I closed my eyes long enough to take a long, deep breath and push the urge to shout at him. He had driven Nyra and I back home to take a break for the rest of the day even though I insisted that I was okay. Kai had remained behind to chase a lead on Carter and sort out other Kingdom-related issues.

"She could have hurt you real bad," he added, lowering his voice.

"Glad to know that you think she is a better fighter than me, your own mate." I tapped my hand over my chest, nodding to myself.

"Baby, Vex started training since she was a little girl. She earned her position fair and square by
