I called Jeriah countless times and tried mind-linking him, but his phone went unanswered and the telepathic messages weren't going through. It was obvious something was amiss, because he should have informed me first when Thorne was taken. Also, he would have told me that Seraphina was coming, but he never did that.

"When was the last time you saw Thorne?" I questioned Seraphina in the living room. She refused to sit down and insisted on pacing across the space.
