I was up and down in the office, coordinating the search for Thorne, and with the protection spell broken, I had increased the number of soldiers around the borders, assigning more in the critical areas bordering the neutral grounds. Attempts to reach Jeriah had still borne no fruit, so I had to wait for Kai to reach the pack and contact me.

As I was walking to the elevator to head to the boardroom, I bumped into Vex, dressed in loose matching black sweatpants and a sweatshirt. "Ronan," she yelped, taking a step back.

"It's Alpha King Ronan to you," I corrected, my face void of any emotions. "What are you doing here?" I asked.

"I heard about Alpha Thorne, and I want to help in the search. I know I am no longer the commander, but you know I can do a good job," she said, holding her hands behind her back.
