Delaney

I stood by the window of the hotel room Kai and I had checked into, staring at the woods that stretched to the neutral grounds. Kai had excused himself to go make sure that Jeriah had settled in well. The pack healer had already checked him and had ruled that he was okay. Apparently my magic had saved him, and while I was glad, I wished we had also managed to get my dad back. With my emotions pushing me to do something when I saw him bleeding, my magic had worked.

There was a knock on the door. "It's me." Nyra's voice followed.

"Come on in," I responded, not stepping away from the window. It had been a long day, and the sun was almost setting. I couldn't help but picture my dad feeling lost and scared in the arms of the very man he refused to believe existed when I told him about him.

"How are you feeling?"
