My brother, Elias, and I were at that point of simply existing, without knowing what to do next. For three good days and nights, we switched between roaming naked and shifting to our wolves. We hadn't eaten anything, not even a drop of water; all we had done was take a bath in the streams inside the woods. Maribel had tried reaching out to us, telling us to go back to the mansion and retrace our steps so that we could know where to go from there. We eventually decided to go back just to shut her up, and of course, to stop her from venturing into the search alone.

"We are not hungry," I said, eyeing her dishes set up on the dining table. After Chloe's failure to lead us to the dark witch, we had locked her up, just in case she was still in communication with the dark witch. We had taken her phone, so that of the witch called or texted, we'd be the first ones to know.
