Alpha Kai

My wolf was clawing on the inside. 'Let me the fuck out!' he roared, stirring my mind in a manner that left my vision blurring. Every heartbeat sent a stabbing pain all over my chest, spreading all the way to my back. It felt like a long knife being impaled on the front of my chest, then pushed deeper, the sharp end exiting through the back.

"Aah," I groaned under my breath, eyes tightly closed. It had been hours since the bond broke, hours of emptiness, of yearning for Delaney, of losing my fucking mind, of sitting in her room, smelling her clothes to keep my sanity from slipping. Ronan had fled after the pain of our mate bond being broken ebbed. His wolf had taken over, faster than he could fight, or perhaps he didn't even fight at all. I didn't know where he had gone to or what he was up to, but I was dealing with my own aches to go after him.
