Chapter 12
Michail trusted that he would not be seen by the people if he ever landed down their island on a shell-shaped chariot pulled by two giant doves. He knew that Aphrodite made sure that his arrival was secret and hidden.
Just as the goddess told him, the doves brought him just in front of the beach, the chariot dipping down the white sand as the sound of the waves crashing to shore filled his ears. There was no neighborhood nearby, so he was safe to dip down the water without anyone noticing him.
“Will you two be back for me?” Michail asked, eyeing both the doves' huge eyes. He wanted to pipe in a joke about being attacked by a sea creature and running away from Aphrodite to escape from his final quest, but he felt that the doves would understand and tell their goddess right away.
“Alright, here goes nothing,” Michail told himself as he turned his back on the doves and made his way to the shore, where the cold, salty water began to touch his trembling feet.
