“I do not understand,” Michail breathed out. “But is it real, though? The stories about you; your kingdom, your people, the quests…”
“Of course, it is real!” Leo snapped angrily. Michail’s eyes widened when he moved to lift his eye patch, exposing the empty eye socket where his right eye was supposed to be. Even with the lack of an eyeball, Michail could see the anger seeping into his features. “Do you think I would have my eye taken out of me if I was making all of these up?? For what?!”
“You are right, forgive me,” Michail mumbled as he looked away from him.
Leo seemed to have calmed down immediately, not wanting to scare the man even more. “I apologize. I just do not want another poor man to be entrapped in that goddess’s abuse; only using mortals for her own, selfish gains. This is why I escaped from her, hid inside this cave for years.”
“But, do you not miss your home up there?” Michail asked. “Or at least miss the breath of fresh air and consuming fruit
