Chapter 43. Trouble Magnet

"According to rules, that is a breach of contract against this club on Trisha's part," Sandra replied after a long and deep sigh of frustration. "But with how Denny Vero has been acting lately, I won't be surprised if the rules bend in his favor. Especially if Trisha keeps getting involved with different unfortunate issues and incidents," the obviously stressed manager groaned. 

"Unfortunate events like this one in the hallway earlier?" Marie was caught in disbelief. That would have been too shallow of Mister Vero if that was the only reason for him to be so upset.

"That is not all of it. There are a few more, and the one I am most worried about almost happened tonight," Sandra leaned on her swivel chair. "I have to warn you, too." Sandra pulled a pack of cigarettes from her drawer, and as Marie did not smoke, she had to excuse herself. "I hope you don't mind. I am just so stressed. I need to puff a stick at least," Sandra moved her chair back as far as she could aw
