Chapter 51. Disgrace

Caius’s POV

Rosie woke up early and ran straight to my room. Before she even opened her eyes, she could feel my presence there. She put her small body in my arms and nipped my neck with her head. I laughed at the show of affection and wondered how this little dog could have such a big place in my heart.

She talked for what seemed like hours about every second I was gone. I loved how her little voice went from happy to angry to confused. She was so sweet and innocent, and she was slowly finding her way in the world. I loved every second of her normal childhood. She wasn’t going to grow up too fast or have the weight of our father and older brother’s death on her shoulders like we did.

When she told me how Maddox and Alex teased her and her friends, I decided those boys needed to be reminded who the Queen of the house was. I got her the wolfsbane oil so she could put a few drops in their toothpaste. There wasn’t much of it, and it was mixed with other herbs, so it w
