Chapter 7. Betrayal

Elise’s POV

“Elise! Elise! Please, wait just a second,” Owen made a plea.

He was a tall, sandy-haired boy with green eyes. He was born with a tall, muscular body because he had Alpha blood. Still, he always had kind eyes. Most Alphas give off the power, which makes them proud and self-centered. Owen was born an Alpha, but he was brought up as a Beta.

He had the same father as his half-brother Kalix, who would become the Alpha of the Blood Moon pack. Alpha Edward, their father, was a very cruel leader. Their pack was run like a military unit. Alpha Edward took a chosen mate, but he didn’t let her mark him so he could keep his forced mistress. He had a son with each woman, and he decided it would be best to raise his bastard child, Owen, as the future Beta.

“Get away from me, Owen!” I spat back and kept running toward my house. It was a four-story grey stone mansion that was both my home and where I kept my belongings. It was just a house, but it was made to lo
