Carlos could not believe it—how could he have been so blind? How could he have ever thought that she was on his side? He wondered if her time to stay here was running out because she was obviously becoming anxious. She was not even hiding her evil intentions anymore.
The one suggestion she could come up with to tackle the possibility of the super consortium being swallowed was for them to purposefully not win the Estrella auction. She was not even trying anymore, and that made him very upset because it showed she thought of him as such a goner that she did not even need to put in much effort into her lies, and he would believe her.
What was more annoying was the fact that she was right. Two days ago, he would have thought she was right, that she had his back, and that her idea was the best thing that could ever happen to them. Now, he could clearly see how the others had looked at him while he played the fool and danced to the beat of her drum.
