Chapter 219. Let’s Be Friends

“Your friendship.”

There was absolute silence for a few seconds after Bill’s words. Carlos was so taken aback he didn’t even bother to hide his confused expression.

“What?”

“Let’s be friends,” Bill repeated and after a few seconds of Carlos just glaring at him as though he had just played a mean joke, Bill laughed. “Don’t look at me like that, I mean it.”

“What exactly do you mean by friendship?”

“Believe it or not,” Bill shrugged, eyes suddenly roaming the room as though he was at least a little bit embarrassed. “I’ve never had a real friend. I’ve had people who pretend to be friends, I have business partners but I’ve never had a real friend. Someone who has your back. Someone who you can totally and utterly rely on and I think you and I would make fast friends.”
