Chapter 241. Acceptance

“You’re here more than half a year late,” Carlos said walking closer to her. “And so far with no apologies.”

“I apologize,” she said, honest sounding and without wasting a second. “I truly did not plan to leave you in the middle of all of that.”

“Apology not accepted, not without an explanation.”

“Fine then, I’ll explain,” she said then proceeded to stare quietly at the street below.

“Why did you leave, Amanda?”

“I can’t tell you exactly why,” she said. “It’s confidential.” Carlos was about to go off when she added, “but it’s the same reason why the Man in Black left.”

“If it is the same reason why the Man in Black left then I can and need to know about it,” Carlos told her. “It’s my business.”

“I’ll let the Man in Black decide that,” she told him. “As of right now, since he isn’t here, it is my business and sharing it with anyone would be done at my discretion.”
