Chapter 258. Gun Party
Lo woke up to activity in the morning. It seemed none of them in the house was heading to work today. She didn’t feel like leaving the room so she stayed up there and alone until it was past 9:00 am and Petra showed up at the door.
The woman knocked slightly before stepping in.
She gave Lo a brief stare at the door before she walked in. She had a box in her hand, black, palm-sized and tied neatly with a pink ribbon. The sight of it left Lo’s feelings confused.
“You were making us wait so long,” Petra sat on the bed as well, directly in front of her. “You’re not already having an existential crisis are you?”
Lo gave her a slight smile. “I’m really doing the adulting thing right aren’t I?”
“Lo?” Petra urged. “You can’t pretend nothing is wrong. I turned eighteen years ago and I can’t be that easily waved off.”
