Chapter 20. The Mind Reader
Savannah’s POV
“How is it?” I ask and gauge Logan and Harlan’s reactions.
The three of us are seated at my regular booth in the Martha’s Bakery and Diner, a local Vermont hotspot serving up the best grilled cheese sandwich, cupcakes, and milkshakes. Everything on their menu is pretty much bomb. Juju, Lexy, and I used to come here all the time after school, sharing milkshakes and playing old 70s music on the jukebox.
“This is really good,” Harlan says after he had a mouthful of grilled cheese.
“This is, like, the best milkshake I’ve ever had,” Logan adds, slurping on his chocolate milkshake. “And I’ve had a lot.”
He says that last part with a wink, and I can only roll my eyes as Harlan blurts out a laugh.
