Chapter 27. Slander Bender
Savannah’s POV
It’s perhaps… the most magical ten minutes of my life.
After the song comes to an end, Harlan and I pull away, and I instantly miss his body being so close to me. But as the whole world is watching us, I feel like I have to restrain myself somehow. In the corner of my eye, I see some girls who belong to the Red River pack giving me dirty looks because they’re under the impression that I’m dancing with their Alpha who also happens to have a girlfriend. I know I don’t have to explain anything to anyone, but the stares are making me uncomfortable.
“Harlan…” I speak first, breaking the silence.
“Yeah?”
“I think it’s time for me to go.”
Harlan narrows his eyes disapprovingly.
“So soon?”
“You said one dance,” I shrug.
Harlan looks like he wants to protest, but he sees me glancing around and looking uncomfortable, so he got the hint.
“I guess I should’ve said two,” he says, chuckling dryly.
