Chapter 61. Restricted Area

Savannah’s POV

Restricted Area. No unauthorized personnel beyond this point. Do Not Enter!

He looks around from side to side, making sure no one sees us. And before I can even respond, Carter pulls up the rope covering the door and pulls me underneath it with him. The next thing I know, we go behind the big wooden door and race down the dark steps. He pulls out a lighter and uses the fire to light the way.

My heart starts beating in fear and excitement, and my feet can’t seem to stop going down the long steps.

“Carter, slow down,” I say as I try to keep up with his pace. “W-what is this place?”

We finally reach the bottom of the steps. Carter goes to one of the walls where he sees a wooden torch hanging on the wall. It has no fire on it, no one’s probably lit it in years. Carter puts his lighter on the torch, and soon enough, the fire lights up the wood and I can see the whole room better.

“Whoa,” I gasp.

We’re in some sort of dungeon
