Chapter 46
Hazel’s POV
“To our king and queen,” Veles raised his glass before letting out a roar of laughter. Cassius looked oddly at his brother as he pulled him down by his shirt. Sending a playful punch to Cassius’s shoulder, Veles raised a glass to my direction.
“And my beautiful wife.”
“Sit down, Vel. You’re embarrassing yourself,” Cassius pointed at ale dripping down his chin as he threw a piece of cloth on his face. My cheeks flared with red tinges.
“Wipe it, and stop drinking. I don’t want to carry your drunk ass to your chambers.”
Veles rolled his eyes and poured another glass of ale into his mug making Cassius shake his head disappointingly. My eyes curiously darted to Veles’s left at his step-brother, Aloysius. Claus insisted he should eat his dinner with us, along with his wife Gorgia. Aloysius might look a little comfortable sitting at the royal table, but the woman besides him looked anything but calm.
