  “Rachel, go fetch my parents,” I yelled as she ran to alert my pack. Carrie and Ryder remained with me. I wouldn't let anything happen to her, and as the future alpha, I had to stand my ground. 

  “What do you want from this pack? Why don't you leave and never return? You're not welcome here.” I growled as the prominent rogue leader finally stood before us. 

  He eyed me curiously before a cunning smirk formed on his face. “You came to the city. Your sister came after you. She was nice enough to leave her portal open so we could return here. What we want is behind you.” he answered gruffly. 

  I glanced to my side and realised that he was referring to Carrie. He wanted Carrie. 

  All this was about my sister. 

  “We have been searching for her for many years now. You see, she isn't like any of you. She isn't one of you.” he explained, and I felt my sister tremble with confusion beh
