Chapter 25

  As we stood there, the rogues slowly backing away, Carrie's voice echoed through the cave. I could sense her power building, knowing she was getting angry. Her eyes were blazing with fierce determination, and I could see the wolves within her starting to stir.

  "You're not taking anyone else from my pack," she growled, her voice low and menacing.

  Ryder, still in his wolf form, let out a snarl, and I could feel the hairs on the back of my neck stand on end. The two remaining rogues took another step back, their eyes darting between us.

  I took a step forward, my power growing in response to Carrie's. "You're not going to hurt anyone else," I said, my voice firm.

  The rogues hesitated for a moment, then turned and ran. We let them go, knowing that they wouldn't be able to escape for long. We had won this battle, but we knew that there would be more to come.

  I glanced over at Ryder, who was still in hi
