Chapter 65
“Mr. Ray… is Madam okay?” a soft voice asked behind him.
He turned slightly. One of the maids approached, her steps hesitant, worry flickering in her eyes.
“Yeah,” he murmured, lips tight. “The doctor said it’s just stress. They’ll know more after a full examination.”
There was a pause, then he narrowed his eyes, voice dipping low. “Did anything happen when I wasn’t around? Did Clair do something?”
The maid blinked, confused. “No, Mr. Ray. Miss Clair left early this morning. I didn’t see them interact. And… nothing special happened today.”
Her voice trailed off, and Ray caught the shift—the way her eyes flicked away, how her lips pressed together as if trying to contain something.
His brows furrowed
