Chapter 27. Amnesia
Lola slowly opened her eyes, her head pounding with a dull ache. As she looked around, confusion washed over her. She was in her room, surrounded by the familiar walls of the Cross mansion. But why? How did she end up here?
She tried to recall the events of the previous day, but her memory felt hazy and fragmented, like pieces of a puzzle scattered in her mind. The more she tried to grasp onto the memories, the more they slipped away, leaving her feeling disoriented and lost.
The room itself seemed untouched, as if frozen in time. Sunlight peeked through the curtains, casting a soft glow on the furniture. Lola sat up, holding her head as she groaned. It felt like a hangover, but she couldn’t remember drinking anything the night before.
Her gaze fell upon a glass of water on the bedside table, along with a small note. With trembling hands, she reached for the note and read the words written in elegant handwriting:
