Chapter 43. Letter from Lola
Lola stood defiantly before Edgar, her eyes filled with a mixture of fear and determination. She refused to yield to his demands, her spirit unbroken despite the darkness that surrounded them.
“Sit on the throne, Lola,” Edgar commanded, his voice dripping with authority.
Lola’s voice trembled as she spoke, her voice laced with defiance. “Why should I obey you? You are only showing me evilness!”
Edgar’s lips curled into a sinister smile, his eyes narrowing with a sadistic glimmer. “That will be less painful, my dear. Trust me, it’s in your best interest.”
“No!” Lola’s voice wavered, but her resolve remained steadfast. She refused to succumb to his manipulations, refusing to become a pawn in his twisted game.
