Lola spent the first day of recovery without walking. Edgar held her in his arms whenever she needed to move. Otherwise he prevented her from standing up because of her low blood pressure.
But the second day, she insisted on walking!
Lola couldn’t help but let out a giggle as she stumbled over her own feet, nearly toppling to the ground. Edgar, who was nearby, rushed to her side with an amused expression on his face.
“Oh, my love,” he chuckled, extending his arm to steady her. “It seems you have inherited the grace of a newborn fawn.”
Lola blushed, a mixture of embarrassment and amusement washing over her. “I suppose my clumsiness adds to my charm,” she quipped, flashing a mischievous smile.
Edgar’s eyes sparkled with mirth as he played along with the lighthearted banter. “Indeed, my dear. You have a unique talent for turning even the most mundane activities into a spectacle.”
