Chapter 173. Before the Storm

AFTER ONE WEEK, Albert Ripley and Alison Gardner's trial for Catherine's murder began and after a few days the verdict was out.

Latton is pacing back and forth in the Ripley Manor living room while Derek is connected to her laptop via video call.

Both are waiting patiently for their family lawyer, Magnus Claire's call. Even though they know that Albert will take the fall for Catherine’s death as the mastermind that orchestrated everything, they still want to know if Albert will be sentenced to death or life imprisonment.

Although Latton said Albert was dead to her, she didn’t really want him to die. “The tension is killing me. I should have attended the trial.” She yelled internally.

Derek clears his throat to get her attention, “Would you stop? You’re making me dizzy,” he shouts. His voice was almost cracking and Latton could sense his stress.

She exhaled profoundly, “What’s taking so long?” She mumbled, “I think Magnus forgot to call us.” She exclaime
