Chapter 32. Fragile

Diana gaped. She remembered how Sophia won her sympathy by exposing Kara's disgrace. Turned out that's not true?

"Watch your mouth, Jeremy. I never speak ill of anyone else. I speak as is."

"Is that so? Well then, did you tell Grandma that Rowan Harper was gone? I think all this time she thought her ex-husband was still alive and was after her."

Diana gasped. Her whole body trembled, stung by reality. "Rowan is dead? He will never appear in my life again?"

Suddenly, tears gathered on Diana's eyes. Confusion enveloped her mind.

Should she be relieved and feel free? Or regret and feel guilty? She had tortured herself by living in the shadow of Rowan's threats which no longer had any meaning.

"What's the big deal? Grandma doesn't want to know about her ex-husband anymore. Telling her about Rowan will only open up the old wounds," Sophia said without any guilt.

Jeremy gritted his teeth. "By you telling her about that, she won't feel threatened.
