Ava had some difficulty catching her breath. Before she could open her mouth, Jeremy interrupted, "You're not the only one busy, Miss Connor. So am I. Instead of wasting my time wandering around like this, you should just go."
Jeremy was about to close the door. Ava quickly pushed it back.
"Wait! I have something to explain to you. Can I come in?"
Jeremy's eyebrows knitted together. After a short contemplation, he shook his head. "You are nothing to me and I don't care about you anymore. So, good night."

Ava tried to push the door, but she realized that Jeremy was stronger. The only way she could think of was to slip through the remaining gap.
