"There's been a lot of work piling up lately. Frank doesn't want to put it off any longer. So," Jeremy scratched his eyebrows and glanced at the empty seat at Melanie's side, "just the three of us?"
In contrast to her reaction this morning, Vivian looked gloomy this time. "Yes, Ava said her mother wanted to eat in her room again. But for some reason, I thought her behavior was a little strange today. Do you feel that too?" She looked at Melanie.
The woman in the bun nodded. "Yeah, she's quieter and spends too much time in the room. She only checked on me once today. Maybe because she wasn't healthy enough."
"Is Ava sick?" Jeremy raised an eyebrow.
Melanie shrugged. "I delivered a package for her this morning. When I saw her, I immediately felt strange. Her eyes were swollen, while her face was pale. She said she was feeling unwell."
"Ava got a package?" Jeremy's tone was suspicious.
"I don't know from whom. There's nothing written and I didn't ask
