Chapter 43
Jane was done. Whatever she didn’t remember to buy was either not important or unnecessary for the moment. It was time to pay and go home, maybe look around the store to see if anything would jog her memory. She had her chocolate ice cream and her wines—five bottles because she was really going to need it more than the ice cream. She didn’t want to run out of wine; that wouldn’t do her any good. Maybe she needed to get some food too, because all she had gotten so far were just junk and snacks. She might need something substantial to eat. She had only eaten once since yesterday evening, and she had been picky with what she ate at Rachel’s place because she wasn’t that hungry. But she might be later. She wasn’t going to order food when she could get it now and microwave it later if she didn’t feel like eating immediately after getting home.
She thought she heard her name. Whoever was calling her knew her very well because hardly anyone here knew her name, except Rachel’s neighbo
