Chapter 48

Aria looked up from her book, not being able to focus on it anymore since he walked in, and though the place was big enough to avoid him, she still couldn’t help getting distracted by his constant eyes on her.

She got tired of waiting for him to leave. Going to where he sat, Aria stopped beside him and snatched the book from his hands in one sharp motion.

“Why can’t you just leave me alone?” she snapped, voice low but tight. “Is that so hard for you?”

Cole looked up at her, acting surprised for half a second, then relaxed back into the chair like he hadn’t just been disarmed. He lifted a shoulder in a careless shrug. “I don’t know what you mean. I was just reading.”

She scoffed. “Oh really?” Her eyes dropped to the book in her hand. “Then tell me. What’s happening in it; the book you’re ‘reading’.”
