“And if she doesn’t come back?”

“She would, I pray.” Cole swallowed once. “But if she doesn’t, then at least it will have been her choice.”

“I’m not talking about her will. What if she gets in harm’s way?” Aren defined.

“I’ll send guards with her till she arrives where she’s chosen safely,” Cole explained.

“Want me to cover her safety myself?” Aren was offered even though he had other pending tasks.

Cole smiled lightly. “Yes, thanks.”

Cole glanced again toward Aria. Selena was saying something animated now; Aria nodded politely, but still distant. He left Aren and went to her, letting her know their car was ready to take them back.
