“Selena,” Aria whispered and pushed herself upright too quickly and dizziness rolled through her. She braced a hand against the wall and focused on breathing, taking one slow breath at a time. Her heart started to beat unsteadily as Maya rumbled warily but she tried her best to remain calm. Panic would not help her, she knew, she had been through so many Panic moments to not know. Panic would just make her weak.

She was still trying to breathe slowly when she heard footsteps approaching from outside. She immediately straightened as soon as she heard the keys unlocking the door.

The door opened without haste and a woman stepped inside. The woman was tall with beautiful dark hair braided tightly down her back, eyes sharply assessing Aria as soon as she walked in.
