Leah’s POV

I have no idea why I am here.

Everyone was loud and bustling, but I stood alone in the corner with nothing to do. I ought to have just refused Anaya’s invitation. Countless groups are already giggling, and I cannot even figure where Anaya and Amoux are.

“It seems that you are once again alone. The kid you are caring for has left, I see.”

When someone suddenly spoke from behind me, I turned to see who it was, and I almost leaped with happiness when I saw Damon beaming at me with his hand behind him, like if he were a Prince, coming to rescue his princess.
