Chapter 137. A Hunch

I smiled, my heart warming up. She really was just human; a girl just like me. “Don’t worry, Giveon’s hardheaded, but he’s loyal to the people he cares about.” 

“He doesn’t care about me anymore, he stopped a long time ago,” She replied, sighing. 

“He still does.” I chuckled. “He still cares, Maddie. He’s just really mad. Maybe he doesn’t care as romantically as you want him to, but he cares. You’re his best friend.” 

She sighed again, but this time, it was heavier. “I just wanted us to work,” she confessed. “And I’m trying, I really am. But I just can’t move on.”

“Maybe it was because the two of you were in each other’s faces all the time. You were more attached than he was, so he healed and moved on quicker. I know it still does not make you feel any better, but trust me, you will get better. There is your special someone out there, maybe even better than Giveon. But you have to give yourself permission to move on. You have to let him go.”
