Sapphire Watterson
The smell of pancakes and omelets drifted through my nostrils. I gave myself a full stretch, climbing out of his fluffy bed and pushing open the vast curtain to reveal the early dawn of the morning. I smiled at the sight of the streetlights and cars which seemed blurry from indoors, clearly revealing that the day had just begun and to think Andrew was making breakfast as early as this before he could get dressed to work made a warm feeling settle down in my belly.
My mind reverted to the past few hours with Andrew had been food, sex, and conversations that successfully avoided anything that had to do with the news of his wedding. I wanted it to remain that way. Him, me, and nothing in between. We would sit on his sundeck and talk over cans of beer and bottles of champagne about family, childhood, people, and our favorite TV shows.
