Something was wrong with me. I couldn’t seem to focus on whatever today’s agenda was in today’s meeting. My mind was all over the place, while one of the members of the board spoke about some practical way to stimulate the company’s production sales and all I could think of was Sapphire.
I could not get her out of my head no matter how I tried—focusing on the presentation laid out on a spreadsheet in front of a huge projector in the boardroom. Yet, my mind effectively reverted to the thoughts of her. I wondered how she was doing. What she was doing right now. What she was having for lunch. Would she be gone by the time I got home? I snatched my phone from the table in front of me, wondering if I should call her. And say what? I missed her voice. Check up on her for the nth time today? Damn! I was obsessed.
I didn’t want her out of my life for a second. These past few hours have been like a dream I was not ready to wake up from. A smile unknowing
