Chapter 55. Secretly Missing Him

The next day, Dave walked to the roof of the hotel where he was staying to board the helicopter that was waiting for him. In the elevator, there were only Aldo, Dave, and a man who was his bodyguard. Suddenly, a message came from one of his trusted people who was assigned to monitor the situation.

He claimed that someone had intentionally designed the helicopter to harm Dave.

"Aldo,"

"Yes, sir," replied Aldo.

"You get on the helicopter first," said Dave in a flat, expressionless tone.

"Erm, but what about you?" asked Aldo, looking confused. And Dave noticed the change in Aldo's expression. Dave knew that Aldo was not on his side, and Dave was sure that the bodyguard behind him was not on his side either.

Someone had planned all this so that Dave would be trapped and killed. But Dave was too smart for them to con him. He was used to being betrayed, and he never trusted anyone again.
