Chapter 64. Messages and Meetup
Calla slid out of the car and walked face forward to her front door, not bothering to wave ‘goodbye’ or a ‘thank you’ to Fabio.
She took out the keys from the flower pot by the stair, inserted it into the keyhole and unlocked the door. With a sigh, she entered the house, took off her jacket and hung it on the coat-rack.
It was almost nine and Eli should be in school by now. Yes, he’s old enough to get himself ready and wait for his school bus. Don’t judge her.
Calla headed to her room and shut the door. She exhaled and pulled out the phone to read Salvatore’s messages.
[Why aren’t you responding to my texts?]
[You better not be plotting something you can’t handle, bitch!]
“Shit!” Calla cursed, palming her forehead hard. She rushed to her bedside drawer and pulled out the burner phone. She saw he’d sent three messages.
[Boss is planning something big, and you’ll be the star of the moment.]
[We have to meet up.]
