Chapter 65. Star Player
It was exactly 11:30 when Calla stood in front of the old warehouse. The sky was dark with no stars, no moon, just thick clouds that made the night feel heavier. The wind carried a faint smell of rust and smoke, and the sound of dripping water echoed from somewhere nearby.
Her heart thudded in her chest as she looked around. The place was quiet. The warehouse felt eerier, its metal gate half-rusted and the paint peeling off. Every shadow looked like it was watching her.
Calla pulled the straps of her hoodie tighter around her face and took a shaky breath. This was where Salvatore had told her to come. She didn’t know what he wanted this time, but she knew it couldn’t be good.
Still, she walked forward, her footsteps crunching softly against the gravel.
The hefty men by the door didn’t question her, and quietly opened the doors, not after sneering and throwing whistles at her. She paid them no attention and walked inside.
