When Life Throws Lemons

“Khloe?” Fanny asked and I looked up at her with a small smile, blinking back the tears. I had to be strong.

“Why are you standing?” I asked, making her shake her head at me in amusement.

“What brings you here?” Fanny asked. “Don’t you have work today?”

I shrugged. “I didn’t feel like going. I’ve been too overworked lately. And I had to meet my favourite person in the world!”

Fanny laughed. “You and your lines. That will never change.”

I laughed. “But you love me all the same!”

Fanny sobered. “Of course I do. Now tell me, why are you really here? It isn’t like you to take an off from work.”

“Where do you want me to start?” I sighed. Fanny was the only one here who knew about Ian. And I preferred it to stay that way
