When the Cat is Away

“We should get going,” I murmured, tracing Ian’s hand. He was still holding me as we watched the kids play, and couples walk around.

“We should.” Ian agreed.

I chuckled. “We have to get up for that.”

Ian lifted my face to his, and kissed my lips. “Shush. Stop being such a buzz kill.”

I frowned, narrowing my eyes at him. Ian grinned cheekily at me, making me laugh. My phone rang and I quickly took it out of my pocket. Parker.

“Hey Parker,” I answered, only to be greeted with furious yelling.

“Where the hell are you Khloe?” Parker almost yelled. “You left Fanny’s place hours ago. You aren’t at home. Even Marley is worried.”

Guilt consumed me. What was I doing? I knew that both of would be worried, but I blatantly ignored the fact, and roamed around
