Just Us
There are times when we want to smack people in the head, claw their eyes out and probably kill them. It was how I felt right now. Not because Silver had subtly staked a claim on Ian, but because of the way she said it.
“I’m sure that’s good advice, sweetie,” Fanny said. “But it depends on him if he wants to follow the advice.”
Silver cracked a smile. “I guess so. I should go.”
I just nodded. She went out and I left out a huff of breath. Stupid Silver. Fanny smiled at me. “Don’t pay heed to her, darling. Maybe she’s looking out for a friend.”
“If you say so,” I muttered. “I think I should go. The whole purpose of this visit is gone now.”
“It isn’t. Think about it, Khloe. And you two haven’t been in touch with each other for five years. Things change. You have changed. And so has he, I think.”
