Chapter 14. Desiring Her
Jacqueline climbed into his car, a feeling of sadness engulfing her at the thought of having to leave Romeo’s castle. She loved it here. Strangely, it felt like home. Gilbert climbed in and started the ignition, watching a look of melancholy envelope her.
“Did you enjoy with the kids?”
“Yes, I loved being with them. So, what time do we need to go to their school on Monday?”
“We’ll go there straight from the office, around 10 o’clock,” said Gilbert.
“Who will replace me, Mr. Prescott, sir?” she asked worriedly.
“Stop calling me that,” he gritted out in frustration. Jacqueline gaped at him with her eyes wide with surprise.
“Then what should I call you?” she asked him slowly.
“You know what I want you to call me.”
“I can’t call you that in front of the kids or your parents,” said Jacqueline, looking at him in disbelief. Had he lost his mind? How pathetic she would look calling him Romeo in f
