Chapter 4. Sweet Smile

Anita’s POV

Taking a deep breath, I felt a wave of irritation wash over me. I was annoyed that my mom kept pressuring me.

“Alright!” I replied and hurriedly made my way to my bedroom, still feeling irritated.

“An arranged marriage… Will I really like this man? Who is he? Should I pretend to like him even if I don’t? Why is this so complicated?” I muttered to myself, feeling frustrated.

I then started getting ready to accompany my mother on our shopping trip. Before long, I emerged from my room, dressed neatly and looking presentable. I descended the stairs and found my mother sitting on the sofa, with a maid standing on each side. My mother was engrossed in reading her favorite fashion magazine.

“Mother, aren’t we going out today?” I asked.

“Yes, of course! I’ve been waiting for you for a while now. Are you ready?” my mother replied with a smile.

“Yes, of course!”

“Great, let’s go!” my mother said as she picked up her bag.
