"I've been such a fool!" Alex exclaims when he regains himself.

He runs his hands through his hair and he keeps muttering, calling himself a fool over and over again.

I sit quietly, watching him display his anguish. I feel numb as no particular emotion flows through me. When he asked me to tell him all that had happened that day, I thought that he will most probably not believe me and we'll be back to square one.

But now, as be raves on and on, I sit across him wondering what's going to happen to us next. What he's going to decide and where his decision would take us to.

"Why didn't I give you a chance to explain? It would have made things a lot more easier!" He groans.

"There's no need beat yourself up about it. What's been done has been done. It's too late to retrace your steps. I mean, you've already moved on. I know you have a girlfriend now."
