Chapter 101. Be My Sister

She then continued walking, her eyes downcast, afraid of Bella’s reaction. When she saw Bella's feet in house slippers, Monica took a deep breath and mustered the courage to lift her head.

Slowly, she raised her gaze, shocked to find Bella’s face not angry or cold, but warm and smiling.

“Uhm… Sister Bella… I… I want to—”

Bella gently nudged her husband. “Love, please go. I need to talk to Monica alone.”

Austin smiled. “Alright, love,” he said before walking over to Bryan, eager to satisfy his curiosity about the man.

“Uhm… Sister… Sister Bella,” Monica called out, using the title her fiancé had used.

Bella remained silent, smiling warmly.

Bella was stunned when she heard Monica call her "Sister." All her doubts about Monica vanished instantly. She hadn't expected Monica to be so different from what she had imagined. “She’s genuinely kind and shy,” Bella thought, watching Monica look down and stammer.
