Aria pushed that thought to the back of her mind. She wasn’t ready to deal with it just yet; she had a story to finish, and that was the most complicated part of it.

“You need to let her finish the story, Jasmine,” Valerie interjected. “You’re taking her to a different place where she doesn’t want to be right now.”

Aria sighed out of relief. She had been tongue-tied on what she was supposed to say to Jasmine’s speech, and she was grateful for Valerie’s help.

“I was only trying to help her, Val,” Jasmine replied.
