Chapter 4

Hephaestus POV

The forge was blundering hot. I could barely see above the heat and smoke that billowed through the cave. I hit the hammer on the metal, beating at it hard and fast, trying not to lose myself in the madness that had engulfed me since the day before.

...Oh good lord, your eyes... It's beautiful..

I roared, slamming the hammer down harder. What the hell was wrong with me? I could hear her words. I had replayed yesterday over and over in my head, it felt like I could explain in detail everything about her.

Like that golden hair on her head. It shimmered, catching the light from the ornaments I had hung in the living room. My hands itched to find her and when I did this time, I would reach for those lovely strands. I could bet the whole of Olympus that they would feel so soft against my hands.

Everything about her would definitely feel so soft, a voice in my head taunted and I groaned, tossing the hammer away from me.
