Chapter 16

NATASHA’S POV

Waking up to another day of trying to find jobs. Yesterday was very stressful and the news of the mayor blacklisting me was quite a shock to me.

I dragged myself from my small sized bed to the bathroom. I had slept off trying to search for online businesses that wouldn’t require physical contact. I was too tired to shower and I surely smelled like shit.

I took a deep clean shower and went out of my room. I went into the kitchen, following the amazing smell of Nana’s morning pancakes.

“Morning Nana.” I greeted with a kiss on her cheek.

“Good morning .” She said in Spanish.

“You locked yourself in your room all night, I didn’t even get to talk to you last night. You seemed a bit angry when you came in. Did anything happen??” She asked. Worry was evident in her tone but she kept her eyes fixed on the pancakes she was making.
